About the teacher:

Originally from Vancouver, Adam now calls Toronto home, where he works as an actor, teacher, writer, and producer.

He began his training in Vancouver in 2000; then moved to Prague and worked with the Prague Ensemble Theatre and Channel Surfing; from there, he traveled to Denmark to study movement and voice with Odin Teatret; to Serbia to study movement and voice with Dah Teatar; to Calgary to study improv at Loose Moose; and to Edmonton to study improv at Rapid Fire.

He then trained for 2 1/2 years at the Atlantic Acting Conservatory in New York, where Practical Aesthetics immediately became the foundation of his technique. More recently, he trained at the first International Artaud Festival in Bali, where he trained in mask work with Per Brahe, and learned (or, rather, struggled to learn) Balinese Dance at the feet of the dancers who enthralled Antonin Artaud in 1931.

While in New York he co-founded Aurelia Theatre Company, and co-directed a four-person adaptation of Romeo & Juliet, in which he played Mercutio, the Nurse, Paris, the Prince, Montague, Balthazar, and Friar John. He went on to do Off-Off-Broadway productions of Hamlet (as Polonius), Julius Caesar (as Brutus) and The Visit (as the Mayor.)

Most recently, he completed the first phase of the Fitzmaurice Voicework teacher training with Catherine Fitzmaurice, in January 2009 in Los Angeles.
